even when he was expecting it, the bang on the door startled him. He was hungry and his senses went wild with every sound. He rushed to the door and opened in a hurry. His eyes looked feverish when they met Hartwin's eyes.
"Mornin'.", He muttered and stepped aside to let the giant take a look at his home, which he had cleaned up. He wanted this inspection to be over and done so he could get on hunting. He hadn't slept at all and all the cleaning had drained him to the point of hungryness.
His tools were now organized as were his weapons. It wasn't cleaned as good as it would have, Luca lacked the ability to care at that moment, but it was good enough, better than before. Luca started to put on his hood to cover his head and a pair of sunglasses, to hide his bloodred eyes. He was ready for hunting. He wanted food, wanted blood.

Interesting. Hartwin eyed up Luca's face and composition. Seemed like the little monster had been working all night, but that really shouldn't make him look that shitty. Place looked good tho. Much better than yesterday. Now it actually looked like someone was living here. Someone or something.
Hartwin didn't step inside, but he did peek in and look around. "Better.", the giant nodded and then backed out of the doorway.
The little monster really looked anxious to get hunting, which in it self wasn't that unheard-of. Expecially when dealing witha young vampire. Ezzie would get those bloodshot eyes aswell, if she didn't feed atleast twice a day. Three times, if she was out in the sun alot. But Ezzie could make do with smaller amounts, even just a bag of blood was a ok meal for her. Hartwin needed to figure out how much Luca had been eating before this. First they would hunt tho, the little monster had earned it by cleaning up.
"Do you have any staches of blood in there?", the giant asked as he started walking. Briskly, but yet calmly. There was no point in rushing. Expecially when the whole point was to get Luca to anticipate and control his urges. His head. They would head down to the lower rent quarters of NY. Brooklyn was one of Hartwins favourite hunting spots. Alot of factory workers. People who walked to work, because they couldn't afford cars or even the buss.

"Yeah, some.", Luca replied as he stuffed his hands into the pockets of his hoodie after closing the door. He was wearing his favourite leatherjacket, with multiple pockets. His jacket let out a faitn jingle with each step. Luca liked that sound.
He started to follow after Hartwin without speaking anything. Well, that was hardly worth mentioining as he never really spoke, but this time Luca felt the silence was a bit akward. For some reason he wanted to make up a conversation with the giant, and maybe the giant would feel less..intimidating. Luca followed a bit after, not even trying to get next to Hartwin. He watched the giant man's back and thought what he could speak of.
"Where are we headed?", Luca could have sprinted off and taken the first human in sight for his "breakfast", that was how hungry he was. His fangs were itching to bite someone. It took a lot from the young vampire to maintain his composure and keep it cool under Hartwin's presence. From time to time he kept glancing at the giant, eagerly waiting to sink his fangs into a human.
While cleaning he had spent a lot of time thinking about Hartwin and his words. He felt there was something hidden in the giants words. Something he should know. It was about hunting, that was for sure. It had to do something with his feeding. Luca was sure he knew what the giant wanted, but his mind refused to show it on neon signs. The answer kept hiding.

"Try not to use it unless you're really hurt and need it to heal faster.", the giant gave the little monster another suggestion. Which sounded alot more like an order than advice. It was good to keep some extra blood around, even tho for Luca it might be like an addict keeping a stach of heroine in his back pocket. Blood was just 'a little' more vital for a vampires survival than drugs where for an addict. There might come a spot where Luca would be baddly injured and having a blood to help one heal faster could end up being the difference between actual death and this thing vampires called living.
Hartwin had dressed up like he always do - in clothes that where both functional and decent looking. His very dark grey jeans where well fitted and creased to the point where they looked more like suit pants than actual jeans. The armyboots that had been covered in dirt and dried blood where now spotless again, like nothing had happened. One could say the same for the long black leather jacket, that looked exactly the same as the one Hartwin wore yesterday. Didn't Luca slash it clean with his knife? There was no way the german could have fixed the coat to look like nothing happened.
The leather coat was actually a different one, just looked the same as Hartwins old one to the dot. It was a remnant of the second world war, a Heer issued coat for higher rank officers. Bit similar to what the SS-troops would be wearing in every single videogame and movie involving the nazis. The giant had bought a bunch of them in the late 2000's from a novelty type of store, that sold everything related to the second world war. Overflow from the war, the nazi's had made more coats that they would end up using. Same went for alot of other Third Reich military equipment. Some the Alliance had destroyed, some they would have just left to dust.
There was alot in Hartwins human past he didn't feel like remembering. For example how blind he let himself become in face of propaganda and... Just wanting to believe. The giant didn't really like talking about the second world war or his past, it all made him feel insanely stupid. Which was alot when you where talking about a man with an IQ over 200.
This leather jacket tho... It had a lot of good memories. Besides, these where bloody good jackets.
Luca's guestion made the giant look over his shoulder, to the little monster behind him. "Brooklyn.", Hartwin ansvered, making an apparently short story even shorter. Silence wasn't something the german minded at all, people around him knew shit was about to happen or something serious had gone down when Hartwin started slapping more than two or three sencentes together.
Brooklyn wasn't that far off the area Chaos was currently controlling, hence the giant didn't start running. Instead he walked swiftly, while grabbing his cigarillo case from his pocket. The small cigars smelled usually freaking horrible to those who didn't smoke cigars and it was odd the vampire didn't usually smell of them at all - even tho he clearly smoked some. For politeness sake Hartwin offered Luca a cigarillo and the chance to light it with a silver lighter.
The lighter had seen it's better share of days along time ago, but it seemed to still work. It was silver, but it's shine had worn off and turned dark from oxygen exposure. There was some engraving on it, but part of it was lost in the darkening. You could still make out the letters ".. K.S you can make...r own... appiness.... Love...." The rest of what had apparently been initials where gone.

For Luca, Brooklyn seemed like thousands of miles away. He was hungry and it was hard for him to controll his urges. In past when he had tried to control it, he would have taken it so far that he had lost his mind and fed on countless of people, nearly killing them. And then he would snap out of it and come to regret his doings. After a few incidents, Luca had given up on controlling his hunger to that extent. Now he just waited untill it was nearly painful to wait untill he fed.
When the giant offered him his cigarillo, he took one just to be kind. He didn't particulary like cigarillos, he used to smoke cigarettes once in a while when he was a human, but didn't smoke so much as a vampire. For one, he didn't need them. He had never really gotten addicted or anything, but occasional smoke every now and then was fine with him. The smell of the cigarillo was horrible to Luca's nose, but he didn't let it show. Somehow, he wanted to befriend this giant.
Those sorts of thoughts hit Luca hard. What had he just thought of? Befriending the giant? He shook his head. No. He shouldn't. Well..maybe.. Internal battle had began in his mind, and it was a lot of work to silence it, and being hungry made it even harder to focus on such things as making your own mind shut up. Again he shook his head and kept on walking, raising his pace so he would walk next to the giant.
"Why'd you join Chaos?", Luca was actually curious, it wasn't an attempt to create a conversation to clear the silence, he wanted to know what made the giant join this shabby gang. He had joined solely to kill Kaya. He didn't care if vampires ruled or if they would seek peace between humans. All he cared was his revenge. Even after deciding to keep on living after getting revenge, he didn't wanna think about it. He would take it a day at a time, and do what he would feel was the best.

For Hartwin smoking cigars was a kind of memorial. A way to honor a irreplacable friend, who the giant vampire still missed. After two whole centuries. It wasn't the actual cigarillos the german needed as much as the memories flooding his brain while he smoked them. No, not the memories. Feelings connected to them he had trouble grasping otherwise.
The giant was actually hungry himself, but he was walking calmly without haste for a reason. He was measuring the little monster and it's patience.
Luca's guestion got the german to turn his head towards the younger vampire. Hartwin looked at Luca, assessing how much the guestion rose out of curiosity or was it just to keep his mind occupied. Either way an ansver was in order. Hartwin wasn't that keen on personal details and frankly the whole joining up with Chaos was a bored tale. Not nearly as exciting as one might expect. Nor as complicated as the giants thoughts and patterns usually seemed to be.
"I gues I felt like trying something different.", the giant finally ansvered after taking a while to figure out how to mold his reasonings for joining Chaos into a non specific, non personal but still informational package. A vampires life was pretty damn long and in over 200 years Hartwin had done alot of things. Tried alot of different approaches to his life. Chaos had kind of seemed like the natural next step.
"I gues your reason was revenge.", Hartwin pointed out bluntly. Luca wasn't that hard to read after getting a couple of solid facts about the little monster. Brooklyn was getting close, one could smell the sent of a highly populated area. When the smell of people became stronger than the smell of polution in the air. Well, for a vampire atleast.
"Just remember to hide the bodies properly, this is my favourite area to hunt.", Hartwin reminded the little monster to dispose of his meal's remains properly. Hunting in the same area oftenly wasn't smart for a vampire, hence Hartwin rotated randomly between ones he prefered. It didn't even cross his mind that Luca might not hunt to kill, just to feed.

Maybe the giant thought Luca wasn't smart enough to notice his answer was a round-about way of telling it. But he did notice and Luca felt slightly angered and slightly disappointed. He had wanted the giant to really tell him about himself, god only knows why, and being denied that left him with an empty feeling. Well, he himself wasn't the type to share either, but he had told Hartwin a lot of stuff about himself last night, so he felt it would have been fair for the giant to share too. Atleast something.
"Revenge..", Luca mumbled to himself and looked up at the sky. Yes, his sole purpose of joining Chaos was to get his revenge. Would it have not been so, Luca might have tried to join the Hell, as they sought to bring peace between the two races. That way he might have had a chance of meeting Ryan. And who knows, peace could have been possible within Ryan's life span, even thought Luca highly doubted it.
"Yeah, it was.", The young vampire finished after waking from his thoughts.
When the giant mentioined about hiding the corpses, Luca had to give a suprised look to the german. Lifting his brows he eyed the taller vampire. "I don't plan on killing them. I only take what I need.", The thought of killing humans wasn't that odd, Luca had done it many times. He had gone out of his mind while drinking too much alchohol, and killed those he had fed on. But when he was "normal", he didn't want to kill. He still tried to cling on to his last strips of humanity.

There wasn't really that much to Hartwin's story when it came to Chaos and joining the gang. There was nothing as deep running and dark about the giants reasons. The truly personal parts of Hartwin wheren't about joining Chaos at all. Honestly the german was wondering if it would be time to move on, leave New York. He had put too much effort in making a place for himself here to just generally throw away.
Besides Hartwin had started something when he first knocked on Luca's door and the army in the 1930's didn't build up soldiers that yield before getting things done. That was something weak men did. German officers where bred to be everything but weak.
The German had finished smoking his cigar and was about to extinguish the remains, when Luca announced he didn't kill his prey. Which for a pure hunter like Hartwin was rather... unheard off. Expecially comming from the little monster. It was a piece that didn't fit the puzzle. The same vampire that randomly went into a blood raged revengefull psychosis and tried to kill everything around him, didn't kill the humans he fed from?
Surprise was written all over Hartwins face as he stopped and just stared at Luca. The stub of the cigarillo in his hand, raised towards the brick wall he was about to kill it against. The blonde giants expression was dramaticle visible, since he rarely had any. Besides for the dulled insipid one that seemed to be Hartwins regular expression. Oh, and lets not forget the times something ticked the old german officer enough to get him pissed. That... You could also see.
"Really?", sceptic sound in the vampires voice was also easy to spot. He was also rather intriqued.

Luca watched as the giants expression changed. It was interesting to see emotion on the giants face, but at the same ime it pissed Luca off that he would be this suprised. He stopped as the giant did, and looked annoyed. "What? It shouldn't be that suprising..", He mumbled, clearly unsatisfied. He dropped his own cigarillo to the ground and stamped it, lifting his bloodred eyes again to meet the giants blue eyes.
"I don't kill 'em. That's it. Now move it, old man, I'm getting hungry.", Luca grinned, which was far away from his usual, grumpy expression. This grin he had had when he was still a human and enjoying life. He started walking again, not looking back to the giant. He wanted food. He needed it. His fangs were itching to bite someone, to draw that sweet, red liquid he hated so much drinking. To drink it meant abandoning your humanity, which Luca still wanted to have.
He wasn't a good vampire, that was for sure. But the bluehaired little monster was still so young, that he had trouble letting go of his fancy favourite toys, even when they were broken and beyond repairing. But in time, maybe Luca just might learn. Maybe he could even learn a way to stop or controll his psychotic rampages. Only time would tell. But now, he's mind was solely concentrated on getting the itching on his fangs to stop. To make his hunger go away.

((Sori hurja kesto. On taas jotenkin ollut mukamas ihan hemmetin kiire ja pää täynnä ))
"You don't find it intriquing that you have some form of.. chemically enhanced bloodlust, but at the same time you do not kill your prey.", Hartwin had no choise but to raise an eyebrow as he looked at the little monsters uneasy behavior. It became even harder to imagine that this young vampire so eager to feed had enough restrain to not kill humans he fed on. "You probably have more control of yourself and your thrist than you even think."
Luca was an odd combitaniton of control and unpredictable frenzy. Hartwin desided to observe the little monsters feeding, so he simply followed the anxious vampire. Like a overgrown shadow, following and watching.

"As long as I get what I need, there's no need to kill, is there?", Luca replied while glancing back over his shoulder to the giant. Vampires didn't drink till last drop, so why was it necessary to kill those they fed on? Humans would probably hate them less if they stopped killing those they fed on. It was still rather pleasurable to humans, as their fangs gave off the toxin to make it feel better for the humans.
But he never really had thought about it. Was it really that amazing that he was able to pull out his teeth before drinking so much the victim would die of bloodloss, even if he didn't drink it all? Luca shook his head. Nah, it couldn't be that amazing. He was sure the giant had just forgotten his humanity and finished off those he fed on. But now, thinking about feeding made him only hungrier. Luca scoured his surroundings quickly with his eyes, attempting to find someone suitable to satisfy his needs.
Without even giving a lot of thought to the giant following him, Luca spotted a a rather sturdy man on his way to work. He was walking alone, so he would be a great starter. Luca started forward, following the man quite closely, waiting for the perfect chance. When that came, he pulled the worker to an alley with speed, as to not draw unwanted attention to them. At the same time he clasped his hand infront of the mans mouth so he'd be unable to shout. Once securely in the alley, Luca pushed the man against the wall, taking covers in the shadows. He quickly made sure no one had noticed anything and then he let his fangs emerge and sunk them into the neck of his victim.
He ate his fair share. Luca could feel the blood pulsing down his throat, satisfying his hunger. He felt enegized and pulled his fangs out before drinking too much. There was still room for more. His hunger wasn't quite gone, but Hartwin had said he could feed on two people in the morning. Panting out of the human habit Luca stepped back, wiping his mouth. He wanted more..more..more.. Red eyes glowing in the shadows of the alley, Luca looked more like the monster he truly was. Blood smeared on his pale face and red eyes made his seem like that monster. It was hard to control his urges to attack the collapsed man again.
Quickly facing away Luca left the alley while still trying to wipe his mouth clean. Had he stayed, he'd have attacked the man again..

Vs: How to tame a psychotic vampire (Shakur+Hannachu)
Hartwin followed the little monster, but didn't step to the alley. Instead he waited on the streetside, leaning his back against the brick wall. He was hungry too, but not in such a hurry. The german had reserved the mornings to himself. It was the only part of the day no one bothered him with demands, help requests or problems. Early mornings where the only time of the day Hartwin could relax and 'breathe'.
Luca's rehabilitation naturally put somewhat of a dent in this routine. Hartwin had however started to wonder if it would take as long of a time to tame the little monster as the vampire had originally calculated.
"And how do you ensure your breakfast won't call out wolf the first chance he gets? Remember your face and run to the authorities with his bitemarks.", The giant calmly asked, as he looked at the little monster re-emerging from the alley. Whiping the blood from his mouth. "Corpses don't talk. Atleast they don't give out descriptions."
Hartwin had never bothered with trying to influence the minds of humans. Killing seemed like the more humane thing to do. The natural thing to do.

Luca lifted his gaze up and stopped. He stared and listened for the giant for a while before grinning. "They enjoy it, they wont tell. And I mess a bit with their memories, usually. Doesn't take much, just make them remember the wrong details.", He didn't want to kill, and wouldn't do it if he had a control over himself. It was essential for him to be able to drink without killing. It was a proof that he still hadn't lost his humanity, well atleast the small rips of it he still clinged to so desperately.
It would also be essential for him to be able to learn to let go. Of his past and everything concerning it. If he wasn't able to do that, well, he would pretty much say buh-bye to all this hard work he was gonna endure by sticking with Hartwin's training. Clinging to his past would mean he coulnd't live on as a vampire, and he would end up getting himself killed sooner or later.
So how does one get over their past? He didn't know the answer. "Say, how did you decide to forget your human life? How did you let go? Didn't you have anything you missed?", Luca knew he was probably asking too much, but he was curious, and he needed answer, for to be able to let go himself, he needed some hard proof that it really could be done, in form of words. Seeing the giant infront of him wasn't a concrete proof enough for him. For all he knew, Hartwin could still harbour some silly little feelings towards humans.
